CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES 

Flip-flops or shoes, sunglasses, hat, wristwatch, clothing and undergarments, winter cap/scarf and mittens. For Girls: costume jewelry and hair accessories. 

 

GAMES/ACTIVITIES/TOYS 

Puzzles, coloring books or pads, dry watercolor set, binoculars and compass, musical instruments, chalkboard and chalk, jump rope, stickers, games.  

Small ball, building blocks or LEGO sets, Slinky or yo-yo, toy cars, plastic animals, magnets, finger-puppets, interactive toys, other small toys, and figures. 

 

**DO NOT INCLUDE**: Food, candy, or gum. Toothpaste. Used/damaged items.  Scary or war-related items. Wearable traditional camouflage. Seeds or organic matter. Liquids. Medication. Money. Breakable items. Matches, fire starters or aerosols. Knives, saws or razor blades.

SHOEBOX PREP DAY Friday, Nov. 29 th

On Friday, November 29th the day after Thanksgiving starting at 9am, and not stopping until they finish, YOU are invited to come help prepare the boxes for crossing into Mexico. Your help would be GREATLY appreciated! (Snacks, pizza and water provided!)

UPCOMING EVENTS

DECEMBER OUTREACH WEEKENDS: 12/05-12/08 and 12/12-12/15

 

Both events will start on Thursday evening, and run through Sunday morning, allowing them to minister to families through neighborhood visits, and larger scale park and school outreaches. They limit each weekend to approximately 55 people, in a combination of teams and individual families, with a maximum of 15 persons per team. Let them know ASAP if you plan to join, as they will be filling weekend space on a first come-first served basis.

 

For Border crossing, a passport or birth certificate and legal I.D. are needed to cross back into the U.S. Children and youth without an I.D., only need a birth certificate. A PASSPORT IS NOT NECESSARY!!!

 

Lodging: You will need to make your own reservations. There is a local Holiday Inn Express in Nuevo Laredo, but they recommend checking internet sites for as-good-as or better rates.
